Christina Ricci / Beck
December 4, 1999

[pre-episode thoughts]
I've always like Christina Ricci. Just the last few years she's turned into.. rather.. a skank. I mean, she just dresses very revealing and wears a lot of eye makeup. BUT that doesn't mean I should stereotype her. Ok... sorry..

[COLD OPENING] Clinton disses the Republicans
Oh man was I cracking up. I liked the "What the hell is this guy, he looks like a ventriloquist's puppet," and "I'm black, everyone's racist, vote for me." Very good opening!
MY GRADE: A

[MONOLOGUE] Christina Ricci
hm.... they could have done MUCH better. It's good to see more of Rachel Drath, I think she's very talented.
MY GRADE: C-

[SKETCH] The Spartan Cheerleaders
Loved it! Jimmy was hilarious. "Pinto just upgraded to a C." Ricci was good as the flag chick and the line with the "I get called flag a lot without the 'L'" was a classic.
MY GRADE: A

[SKETCH/COMMERCIAL] So This is Chanukah
Another Chanukah music compilation! Does everyone remember from the Alec Baldwin episode the Chanukah Greatest Hits? I dont' remember the title.
MY GRADE: B

[SKETCH] Who Wants to Eat?
My dad was blabbing on about how this was "A braggart way of comparing what the United States has compared to others.." and blah blah. It was kind of mean, but had a few good lines like "Can I just have the rice?" "No, we're feeding it to the goat."
MY GRADE: C

[SKETCH] Taxicab Confessions
Great idea, but I was watching it with my DAD for crying out loud. I had to hide my laughter for a lot of it. I loved the part where they showed the stuff hitting the car. I think that last one may have been a human... lol.
MY GRADE: B

[CARTOON] Fun with Real Audio
I guess that this Smigeal guy has a similar sense of humor as me. Lots of people said it was stupid. I couldn't stop laughing. Then I almost choked to death with laughter when I saw Hitler's face and Jerry Garcia eating the furnature.
MY GRADE: A

[WEEKEND UPDATE] Colin Quinn
A few good lines along with retarded ones. I like the Stevie Wonder one:

"Stevie Wonder agreed to undergo a surgery that will give him back his eyesight.... I can't wait to see the expression on his face when he sees Michael Jackson."

That was the greatest.
MY GRADE: B

[MUSICAL GUEST] Beck
I like Beck much better in his "Loser" days. That song was actually sounding pretty good though.
MY GRADE: B+

[SKETCH] Goth Talk
Goth Talk rules! This is the first one since last year's episode with Lucy Lawless, isnt' it? damn. they need to do these more often because they are my favorites. Ok.. the phone thing was the greatest! "hello Santa... this is TODD!"
MY GRADE: A

[SKETCH] Sally, Save Me From My Wild Teen
I absolutely loved this sketch! The funny thing is that I saw the Sally where they took the kids off to bootcamp on the show! I loved how Amber had "bitten off her brother's nose" and was sleeping with dogs. Gastyer was very convincing as Sally and Morgan was hilarious as the "intimidating black man". This was one of the best of the year, to ME.
MY GRADE: A+

[MUSICAL GUEST] Beck
Hm.... Beck again. I didn't like this song as much.
MY GRADE: C

[TRIBUTE] Madeline Kahn
It was too short dammit! IF you're gonna pay tribute to someone, show it in more than 10 seconds. but then again, maybe the show was running late and they didn't have enough time.
MY GRADE: ?? - can't give one, dude.

[OVERALL]
This was overall a great episode! I really laughed at every sketch, I'm easily amused if you couldn't tell. But I'm starting to loathe the musical guest now. I mean, I just don't want to sit there and watch them fake performing. Well, it looks like they're all lipping along, maybe it's just me. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I think they should cut the musical guest, or at least one of their songs.
MY GRADE: A

[overview for next week]
I thought Jim Carrey was hosting! What's up with that? Oh well, Danny Devito is pretty funny. aNd he is "little Pokemon" if you remember the SNL 25th show. I like R. E. M. , they have some good music.
