[OPENING] Mayor Giuliani's World Series bet:
This was a good opening.. Although, I think I like Robert Smigel's
Impression
of Giuliani that he does on Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien alittle
better though.
I still think Darrell's was pretty good, it got better during
the middle of
the sketch.
[MONOLOGUE] Norm MacDonald:
This was one of the best Monologues Ive seen in awhile. Alot
of the things
Norm said were very true and Im alittle surprised they let him
say some of the
stuff he did. My favorite line by Norm was.. "A year and
a half ago, I had
sort of a disagreement with the management at NBC. I wanted to
keep my job.
Right? And they felt the exact opposite." -- Thanks to Noel
from
thefakenews.net for that exact quote! :-) Another thing.. Did
anyone else
notice that Norm said "Heeeeeeeeeey" .. Just like in
that Sarcasm 101 sketch
from the Matthew Perry episode. I thought that was funny for some
odd reason.
[SKETCH] Martha Stewart Living promo:
This had afew funny lines, I especially liked her website address..
marthastewart.sweetcrazymoney.com
[SKETCH] Great Moments in Yankee History:
This sure was a new look at the famous Lou Gehrig Disease thing.
This was
pretty funny, alittle short though, maybe thats a good thing though,
I dont
see much more they could have done without repeating the joke
over and over
again.
[SKETCH] Celebrity Jeopardy:
I think alot of people saw this comming, including me. This
was definitely the
best sketch of the night. The Celebrity Jeopardy sketches were
getting alittle
boring without Norm's hilarious Burt Reynolds impression. Although
isn't it
Sean Cannery who is famous for reading the Categories incorrectly.
It was
still funny when Burt did it.. "yeah gimmie the Condom one."
and "yeah...
uhh.. I'll take Apetit." I think Jimmy Fallons impression
of French Stewart
was alot better last season. Liked the end when Trebek flipped
out when Burt
put the over-sized cowbat hat on his head. Also Connery's laugh
was funnier
than usual tonight.
[MISC] SNL Band:
Who on earth is that Tap-Dancing moron?
[SKETCH] NBC Crosstalk: How Thin is Too Thin?
I think Chris Parnell and Ana Gasteyer were the only funny
people in this
sketch. Good to finally this Rachel Dratch lady. Her Callista
Flockhart was
alot better than the one Ana Gasteyer did last season. It was
pretty funny
when she threw up as well. They did a pretty good job making her
look like
Callista Flockhart as well.
[SKETCH] Larry King's News and Views:
Nice to see these back on the show, only difference is when
Norm did them as a
castmember they were pre-taped, these were live.
[CARTOON] Fun with Real Audio:
Well, Im glad to see Rob Smigels TV Funhouse segments are still
on the show
afterall. This had afew funny moments, thought that stuttering
Tom Selleck was
pretty funny.
[SKETCH] Larry King's News and Views:
Not as funny as the first one, but still had me laughing.
[WEEKEND UPDATE] Colin Quinn:
Not sure if its me or not, but Colin sounded like he was sick
this week or
something. Though it was funny when someone from the audience
sneezed and he
said "God bless you" .. kinda reruined the joke but..
I thought the thing with
Donald Trumps wife was alittle stupid but... I was hoping they'd
have Norm on
as a correspondent or something.
[MUSICAL GUEST] Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg:
I noticed that both times Dr. Dre has been musical guest, a
former SNL
castmember is hosting, last time it was Dana Carvey.
[SKETCH] The McMulluns argue at Halloween:
This was probably my least favorite of the night, had afew
funny parts but
thats it. You don't usually see Norm in this kind of stuff.
[SKETCH] Michael Jackson drowns his sorrows:
This wasn't that great either, could have been better.
[MUSICAL GUEST] Dr. Dre featuring Eminem:
This song was pretty good until Vanilla Ice Jr. stepped in.
[SKETCH] Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio:
This was my 2nd favorite of the night, why it was in the show
so late is
beyond me.. Will Ferrell stole this sketch as James Lipton. The
answers Clint
Eastwood answered towards the end when he started to get annoyed
at Liptons
questions.
[COMMERCIAL] Chess for Girls:
Why did they play a 2 season old commerical? Is this their
way of getting
Molly Shannon in one thing? If thats the case, at least make it
something more
recent.
Goodnights: Wow, I never thought I'd see Norm at the goodnights.
