James Van Der Beek / Everlast
January 16, 1999

[OPENING] Clinton meets Flynt

It may have been an average opening, but I found it hilarious, especially Horatio Sanz's Flynt.

B+

[MONOLOGUE] James Van Der Beek

I thought this was poor taste.

C

[COMMERCIAL] Teeny Weenies

Sick, creative, "IT'S FUN TO DEFY GOD"!

B

[SKETCH] National Spelling Bee Finals

This has to be the best sketch this year behind the original Dog Show and Celebrity Jeopardy. Will was great, "hey Fred, look at that copuscle." I think he will rank up in the class of Murray, Akroyd, Farley, Myers, Nealon, etc. someday.

A++++

[COMMERCIAL] 'CATS' on home video

This was funny but yet so real. "now and frickin' forever"

B+

[SKETCH] Teen Pulse: 7 Degrees Celcius

I love paradies of N*SYNC and Backstreet Boys, go SNL!

B+

[SKETCH] Dog Show

It was great to see this again, I can't say anything bad about this. It's brilliant comedy.

A+

[WEEKEND UPDATE] with Colin Quin

Good job Colin! Tracy looked a bit lost, but their's an explanation.

A-

[MUSICAL GUEST] Everlast

Everlast is awesome!

A

[SKETCH] Harry Connick Jr. teased w/ laser pen

Loved it! But weak ending..

A-

[SKETCH] History Channel's The War Abroad at Home

I thought this was just odd, but sorta creative.

B-

[SKETCH] NBC execs creat Frankenteen

Creative and funny

B+

[SKETCH] Maria works her magic on Anthony

Missed

view: GOOD! in the top 5 behind david spade, vince vaughn, and lat week's. hopin' for a Dawson's Creek sketch, molly could fit a joey, anna a jen, cheri an andy, and chris or jimmy fallon a pacey
