James Van Der Beek / Everlast
January 16, 1999

Not especially funny. The ending was absolutely predictable.

[MONOLOGUE] James Van der Beek 7

It was pretty good, considering how nervous James Van der Beek was. He tried hard.

[COMMERCIAL] Teenie Weenies 10

One of the two funniest sketches of this episode. We were in hysterics. It just makes me laugh to think about those deformed dolls.

[SKETCH] National Spelling Bee 5

Van der Beek's voice and Will Ferrell's words were the only funny part of this skit.

This was very funny -- the best part of the whole thing was 'Legends of the Fall' on DVD, and Van der Beek's cat clawing noise at the end.

[SKETCH] Teen Pulse 9

This was also a funny sketch, the best parts being 'Sweet T' and their hiked up pants.

[SKETCH] Dog Show 10+++++

I have to say this was one of the funniest skits of all casts, all shows! It was so funny that my friends and I are still talking about it today. Those quivering little dogs, Lady Guinivere, Captain Gingersnap, our favorite Rocky Balboa and the drum with the flying graphic were comic genius. Don't even get me started on the flashlight.

Absolutely not funny at all. We still miss Norm, especially after this weekend.

[MUSICAL GUEST] Everlast 2

The song's already not very good (and way overplayed) -- live, it's worse.

[SKETCH] Harry Connick Jr. 4/5

The impersonation was very good, but why Harry Connick Jr.? The end was rather dumb.

[SKETCH] History Channel 8

This was pretty funny - we loved the time frame for "the war" -- somewhere between 1935 and 1950.

[SKETCH] NBC execs... 6

Very true, but not very funny. Van der Beek did a good job, surprisingly.

[SKETCH] Maria 9

This was good too. Cheri Oteri was so funny, like always.
