EPISODE REVIEWS

Bill Paxton / Beck
January 9, 1999

Gingrich and Livingston at Mac's bar: Man, they will not leave this guy alone. Still I laugh. They make a point though "what the hell happened". Hammond is great as Bill Clinton.

RATING: 9/10

Monologue: I remember Bill Paxton from Weird Science. I have seen only bits and pieces of Carrie, but I liked it. Kinda trippy though.

RATING: 9/10

The View: Who would have thought that Debbie would appear in this skit after she was fired. I thought this was brilliant.

RATING: 10/10

Kulps: I love these guys. I especially liked it when they did "Devil's Haircut" and "One Week".

RATING: 9.5/10

Titanic-Lost Ending: I may be the only person alive never to see Titanic, and I am fine with that. I love how they beat the crap out of the old lady, and James Cameron was great.

RATING: 8/10

VH1 Behind The Music-Fat Albert: I remember this show was on back in the 80's. I used to watch this show every week. Tracy Morgan as Fat Albert cracked me up. I am glad he is finally getting some more air time because he is funny. Kudo's to Lorne Michaels for letting Beck participate in another skit(see Jan. 11 1997).

RATING: 9/10

Weekend Update: I wish I could understand why they let Colin Quinn do Weekend Update. This guy was great when he did Joe Blow and Santa Claus on Weekend Update, but as himself, no way. Ana Gasteyer as Elizabeth Dole was great and is the reason I watch Weekend Update.

RATING: 0/10 Colin Quinn
8/10 Ana Gasteyer

Beck-Nobody's Fault But My Own: What can I say, Beck rocks!

RATING: 10/10

Newsforce: I liked how they said the Bruins beat the Mapleleafs 10-2(Bruins fan), even though the Bruins lost.

RATING: 4/10

Commercial-KCF Shredders: Not funny, just crazy that people can get excited over lettuce.

RATING: 5/10

Favorite Mail Service: These guys can dance, but I was distracted. Did anyone else notice Ana's undies?

RATING: 9/10

Fantastic Voyage: Just a little taboo for my liking.

RATING: 4/10

Beck-Tropicallia: I love the lyrics "you wouldn't know what to say to yourself, love is a poverty you can't sell". Great song.

RATING: 10/10

Extreme Hunting: I wish Bill Paxton was a cast member. This skit could be a weekly thing if he was. Paxton makes a great Ted Nugent. I love how they killed the Artist at the end.

RATING: 10/10

Overall: One of the better shows this season. I wish they would bring back the Roxbury Guys though. They could have had T.V. Funhouse.

RATING: 8/10
