OPENING Brian Williams covers Well Babies Tragedy

Not too bad. Nice make-up on Cheri Oteri. Kind of a dull way to open what ended up being a pretty good show. The idea was there, but it could have been far better. C+

MONOLOUGE Nathan Lane

An excellent opening! Terrific idea made better by the addition of the guy who played Poomba. Nice to see all of the cast (except Tracy Morgan of course). I saw no point of Lorne Michaels being there though.

COMMERCIAL Chess for girls

Terrific commercial! Another great idea! The bubbles and "sshhhh! Youll wake the baby!" were great too!

A

SKETCH Craig and Arianna

Pretty well done. Nice to see the Dallas Cowgirls on stage.

B+

SKETCH The Quiet Storm With Chris Garnett

SNL should give up with this character. These shetchs always end up finishing the same way.

C

SKETCH Sister Wendy Beckett's Art Odyssey

Disgusting.

F-

SKETCH The History of Vaudeville

A terrific idea! Snappy jokes combined with superb acting!

A-

WEEKEND UPDATE with Norm MacDonald

Pretty poorly done. Norm was really rushing through the jokes to get to a pretty poor Abbott and Costello impression.

C-

MUSICAL GUEST Metallica

Not too bad a song.

B

COMMERCIAL Songs That Ruined Everything

Best SNL commercial Ive ever seen! The songs were great and once again, the writing was right on!!

A+

THE LOST DEEP THOUGHTS with Jack Handey

They should completly chuck this idea.

D

MUSICAL GUEST Metallica

I really like this song, but that woman ruined it. She was off key for almost the entire song.

B+

SKETCH Santa Claus the ex-convict

An obvious effort to get Colin Quinn into the show. Another typical end sketch.

C

THE LOST DEEP THOUGHTS with Jack Handey

Not funny.

OVERALL B+
