[OPENING] Brian Williams covers Well Babies Tragedy
The best opening since the Chris Farley show a month ago. Will Ferrell was awesome as Brian Williams. I like the line when he said "There is no way Tom Brokaw is stealing this story from me. I'm gonna be here all night. I got a bag of snickers and a pissjar. This story is mine!!" Chris Kattan was funny as Geraldo. "God, that's a kick ass graphic!" A
[MONOLOGUE] Nathan Lane
A pretty good monologue. I liked the idea of the entire cast singing "Hakuna Matata" with Nathan Lane. Darrell Hammond's Ted Koppell bit was funny. But Will Ferrell was funny as his Spartan cheerleader who got hit by one of the background and was in pain the entire time. The cue card bit was good as well.A-
[COMMERCIAL] Chess For Girls
A good commercial for a good idea. B
[SKETCH] Craig and Arianna's Spartan Cheerleading dream
The best Spartan cheerleading skit for awhile. I'm always entertained by these characters (because it has the two funniest people on the show: Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri). I liked Nathan Lane's character. "I don't know it's your dream. I know I'd never say what I'm saying right now. Don't touch me!" And to top it off, when the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders came on, i almost died right there. Aren't they awesome?!?!?! A-
[SKETCH] The Quiet Storm with Chris Garnett
I was so happy they brought this back and put it at the beginning of the show as well. Tim Meadows was enjoyable as Chris Garnett and when he was getting pissed off at Nathan Lane's selection and when he touched the "Quiet Storm" button. "Listen bitch you better not touch that button again" I also liked it when he shot Lane. A
[SKETCH] Sister Wendy Beckett's Art Odyssey
This was a pretty good skit. I liked Nathan Lane as Sister Wendy. It was fun to listen to. I liked it when he touched that sculpture's nuts and said "I didn't touch it. I just wanted to see if it would melt in my hands." B-
[SKETCH] The History Of Vaudeville (minority songs)
I liked the songs the Vaudeville brothers sang. I never knew Chris Kattan had a good singing voice. The song that were the best written and creativity was the french song. Lane and Kattan had great partnership it seemed. B+
[WEEKEND UPDATE] with Norm MacDonald
Norm did a good job this week on Update. But their weren't that many jokes. The highlight was when Nathan Lane came out as Lou Costello. They were so good together. I laughed my ass off as Lane's impression. B+
[MUSICAL GUEST] Metallica
I only have 1 word for this performance: Awesome. A
[COMMERCIAL] Songs That Ruined Everything
Missed it.
[THE LOST DEEP THOUGHTS] by Jack Handey
What can i say about these two skits. They were funny enough to get a B
rating. B
[SKETCH] Vance helps Miss Milo into costume
It was great to see Nathan Lane back in drag. And Will Ferrell was hilarious as Vance. I liked it when Ferrell had to underneath Lane's dress to fix it and then Lane started walking and Ferrell got caught underneath. B+
[MUSICAL GUEST] Metallica
Awesome song.
[SKETCH] Santa Claus the ex-convict
Good skit to put at the end of the show. Colin Quinn was probably the best star to pick out of the cast to play Santa Claus. Lane was enjoyable as the dad who just wanted to have his kid sit on Santa and get the hell out of their. Good skit. B
OVERALL:
Great rebound from last week's show with host Rudy Giuliani. I'm not really looking forward to next week with music guest Hanson. Though Helen Hunt is awesome. A
