Nathan Lane / Metallica
December 6, 1997
OPENING: Well Babies Tragedy
I thought it was a pretty good skit. Will Ferrel was hilarious and I liked Chris Kattan too.
B+
MONOLOGUE: Nathan Lane
Best monologue of the year with the exception of Chris Farley. i love it when the host interacts with the cast member and doesn't just stand on stage and tell jokes.
A
COMMERCIAL: Chess for Girls
An okay commercial. it didn't really do anything for me.
C
SKETCH: Spartan Cheerleaders dream
The best spartan cheerleader skit in a while. i liked when everyone kept saying,"Don't touch me, this is only a dream."
B+
SKETCH: The Quiet Storm
Hilarious skit, Tim Meadows is the man. I like the Latrell Sprewell line.
A
SKETCH: Sister Wendy Beckett
wasn't very funny, Nathan Lane is good though.
C
SKETCH: The history of Vaudeveille
Pretty funny, I like khow they did it in black and white. Lane and Kattan were good together.
B
WEEKEND UPDATE: Norm MacDonald
Norm always comes through with some good jokes. I didn't think that Nathan lane was very funny as the cop
C+
SKETCH: Vance helps Miss milo into costume
Why? It wasn't very funny at all. the worst skit of the night.
D
SKETCH: Santa Claus the ex-convict
Pretty funny, one of Colin Quinn's best characters. he usually isn't funny. but this was pretty good.
B+
OVERALL:
Not bad, but the first half of the show was a lot better than the second half. I like it better when the bands only do one song.
