Greg Kinnear / All Saints
April 11, 1998
I thought the Greg Kinnear episode started out okay, with the "Martha Stewart Living" sketch.
The opening monologue was fine, then there was the Cookie Dough commercial. That has been on SNL I think 5 episodes now and was hysterical the first time, but now It's really getting old.
The game show "Name That Dog" has to be the stupidest sketch since "Goat Boy", which makes me think that sometimes it's not even trying to be funny.
The singing couple was great.
Those people on the blind date at the restaurant started out as a complete copy of that episode from Seinfeld, then got better as it had more things than just high fives and stuff.
There was one minor problem though, TV funhouse (if you noticed) came in a few seconds too early, nevertheless Saturday TV funhouse is fine as always.
That guy's dog breeding business was pretty bad, especially when Jim Breur's character was talking about his dogs, and you could tell that the other dogs were there from the barking in the backround.
Weekend Update was definitely the highlight of this episode with jokes about Monica Lewinsky finding the president exhibits in Philadelphia "Mouthwatering."
Even though I've never heard of "All Saints" it was a neutral performance.
The Nightline sketch was hysterical especially when they showed Randy kopple in bed with the Asian businessmen.
The pirate sketch was OK but it went on a little too long, though.
The Robin Byrd show was good especially when the cowboy guy came on and didn't know it was that type of show.
The reunion of Later hosts went on way too long, too long meaning that it never should have been broadcast.
The Lost Deep Thoughts was funny as always, but for God's sakes get rid of The Lost. When Dan Ackroyd came back and did the Blues Brothers was it called the lost Blues Brothers? No!
On a scale of 1-10 10 being the highest, this was a 5!
