John Goodman / Paula Cole
February 7, 1998

[OPENING] Linda Tripp confronts Monica Lewinsky over dinner

It's funny because it's so true! But Goodman didn't quite capture the horse look. Oh well.

B

[MONOLOGUE] John Goodman and Dan Aykroyd

I'm not a fan of Jazz or blues or brothers. And seeing Dan dance was terrifying.

C

[SKETCH] Morning Latte

Ha ha. Overplayed on the producer thing, but that is a good thing!

B+

[SKETCH] Bill Clinton disagrees with several of the Ten Commandments

Well I don't like the adultery commandment either. It was an excellent idea to write this skit. Putting Clinton in the oval office gets tiring.

A-

[SKETCH] CBS World Of Sports: Eye On The Olympics

So funny because it's true. They are pretty gay. And the going shopping thing was excellent.

A

[TV FUNHOUSE] The X-Presidents

Smigel finally made a bad one. Oh well.

B-

[SKETCH] Emeril Live on the Food Network

The sketch didn't quite capture the essense of Emeril. It just didn't parody him enough. But you can't blame Jim for that. He did a good job.

C

[WEEKEND UPDATE] with Colin Quinn

The weekend update is now one of my favorite parts of the show. Quinn is a lot more funnier then Norm. Unlike Norm, he actually does real American stand-up instead of stale one line jokes. And it's always hilarious!

A+

[MUSICAL GUEST] Paula Cole

My god! She was alright, but when she waved you could see her arm pit hair! Ack! Candace Gingrich must have gotten turned on. I litterally vomited. The TV world is not ready for this.

F

[SKETCH] Judge Judy

The Judy sketches are great now. Dan did a good job as that sleeze bad guy again.

A-

[SKETCH] Martha Stewart Living promo

Nothing too funny.

C

[SKETCH] Sabado Chistoso

Not that funny because I couldn't understand I word they said.

B-

[SKETCH] When cobras attack

Not funny. I almost got bit by one of those. Well actually it was funny for a near last sketch. But the ending was really f- up.

B+

[SKETCH] Storytellers (with Neil Diamond)

Poor Neil Diamond. For god's sake, the man has cancer! But it was funny.

A-

OVERALL

Excellent show! More proof that the show is back in great form.
