Chris Farley / The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
October 25, 1997
[OPENING] Farley gets permission to host
Nothing special.
Grade: C
[MONOLOGUE] Chris Farley
Okay.
Grade: C
[COMMERCIAL] Yum Bubble Genital Herpes Gum
Sort of funny.
Grade: B
[SKETCH] Morning Latte
Best of the night that I saw. "How funny is that?" Just like the real morning programs. I almost thought it was.
Grade: A
[SKETCH] Mary Katherine Gallagher
Loved Will Ferrell's nun singing "If ya wanna be my lover ... " I liked the songs they played but the skit wasn't all that funny.
Grade: B+
[COMMERCIAL] Martha Stewart: Living promo
Great impression. I liked, "This is what I did to my ex-husband's house." Pretty funny.
Grade: A
[SKETCH] Matt Foley: Motivational Speaker
Not that funny.
Grade: C
[WEEKEND UPDATE] with Norm MacDonald
Pretty good. The Tracy Morgan bit was good.
Grade: B+
[MUSICAL GUEST] The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Good, because I have actually heard that song.
Grade: A
[SKETCH] Goth Talk
I don't like "Goth Talk," so it was funny when the frog guys interrupted.
Grade: B
[THE LOST DEEP THOUGHTS] by Jack Handey
Not funny.
Grade: C
[SKETCH] The Sally Show
The Sally voice was not great, but over all ... good impression. I liked that line, "Well, everyone at my school had one." Chris wasn't all that funny though. Could have been better.
Grade: B+
[SKETCH] Hank Williams Jr. records Monday Night Football song
Pretty funny.
Grade: B+
[SKETCH] The Super Fans ... where are they now?
Okay ... I guess it was sort of funny.
Grade: B+
I fell asleep after this so I do not know what else was on. I will catch a repeat. Overall, it was good. The cast is very talented ... it is the writers that have not been doing well. Hope they pick it up.
