[OPENING] Farley gets permission to host

I thought this was a great opening sketch. It was neat how Meadows tried to persuade Lorne to let Farley host and when Chevy Chase walked in I knew the show was heading for a great episode. Then, when Farley tried to bust through the desk and found out it wasn't a breakaway, I laughed.

"Ga ga gooey!!!"

Grade: A+

[MONOLOGUE] Chris Farley

Again, I thought this was great. It was probably one of the better monologues since Jim Carrey hosted. I liked how Tim tried to host but then they got Chris Rock to host. It was funny how Farley was just sitting in Ana Gasteyer' dressing room eating grapes.

"This is your dressing room. This used to be my dressing room."

Grade: A+

[COMMERCIAL] Yum Bubble Genital Herpes Gum

I didn't think this was a very good commercial. They ran genital herpes into the ground.

Grade: B-

[SKETCH] Morning Latte

I thought this was quite funny. I'm glad they put Oteri and Ferrell in something together again. They just go together ... everything they said was funny. Then Farley comes and tells the lady what he thinks of her. This was an amusing sketch.

Grade: A

[SKETCH] Mary Katherine Gallagher

I thought this was pretty funny, but it was more sweet than funny how Farley made Mary feel good about herself and I liked it. The part that I laughed at was when Farley and Mark started dancing and falling on things.

"YOUR NOT A DOG MARY KATHERINE!!!!"

Grade: A

[COMMERCIAL] Martha Stewart: Living promo

I thought this was funny the first time I saw it, but, unlike the other sketches that night, I wouldn't want to watch this one over and over again.

Grade: C

[SKETCH] Matt Foley: Motivational Speaker

I thought this was funny and great how they brought back an old character to the show. Everything he said was funny, and it was gross, but funny, when he poured the coffee all over himself.

"WHY DON'T YOU TWO LADIES JUST BRING IT DOWN A NOTCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Grade: A+

[WEEKEND UPDATE] with Norm MacDonald

I thought that this was a fairly good "Weekend Update," but when I tape the episodes I don't watch "Update" over and over again, but I love to watch Norm because he is funny. When Tracy Morgan talked it was pretty funny and he was actually telling the truth. They don't use him in very many sketches.

Grade: A-

[MUSICAL GUEST] The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

This was okay. I don't care too much for their musical guests, though this band was good ... but the lead singer wasn't even singing. He sounded like he had a cold. What was the deal with the guy beside him. He did nothing but dance ... if you call it that. The whole time he didn't sing or anything.

Grade: B-

[SKETCH] Goth Talk

I always like this sketch because Kattan is probably my favorite cast member. He was funny as always and when Jim Breuer and Farley came out like the Budweiser frogs, it made me laugh.

"Hey Todd! It's your turn to put Vick's Vapor Rub on grandma's chest! HA HA HA HA!

Grade: A

[THE LOST DEEP THOUGHTS] by Jack Handey

I thought this wasn't very nice. They shouldn't have made fun of Jesus like that.

Grade: C-

[SKETCH] The Sally Show

I thought that this was hilarious. Farley makes a great baby and when he sat in front of the camera and made weird faces, I couldn't stop laughing. Also, when he got down in Meadows' face and was breathing in his ear, it was funny to see Meadows' start laughing. I thought this one was great.

"I wear special pants."

Grade: A+

[SKETCH] Hank Williams Jr. records Monday Night Football song

This was also a great sketch. Farley did a pretty good impression of Hank. It was just funny to see him like that.

"Please call me Bo-Seevis."

Grade: A+

[SKETCH] The Super Fans ... where are they now?

I thought this was okay. I liked how they brought some of the old Super Fans back, but it wasn't the funniest thing I ever saw. It was pretty funny when Farley started having heart attacks.

"DA BEARS!!!"

Grade: B

[SKETCH] El Nino fights on The Weather Channel

Again, I thought this was a funny sketch. Farley was hilarious dressed up like a Mexican.

"For you who don't understand habla espagnol, El Nino is Spanish for ... The Nino!!!!!"

Grade: A

[CLOSING] Chris Farley / The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Again, I don't like how they cut off the credits and go to commercial. But still, a good ending.

Grade: A-

OVERALL:

With exception to a few not-so-great grades, all in all, the show was great. They did an excellent job. I loved how they brought back Chevy Chase, Chris Rock, George Wendt, and the other guy from the "Super Fans," and of course, the host Chris Farley. I loved this episode and I can almost guarantee it will be on the list for summer reruns.

Grade: A++++++++++
