Claire Danes / Mariah Carey
November 15, 1997

[MONOLOGUE] Claire Danes

Kind of weak, especially the ending, but I liked her outfit.

[COMMERCIAL] The Weston Collection's I'm #1

Again the product was a little weak, but the commercial was as funny as they could make it, in my opinion.

[SKETCH] Barry Scheck's apartment

One of the funniest skits I've ever seen on "SNL"!!! The characters were hilarious as always. My only suggestion was to replace Claire Danes' Louise Woodward with Molly Shannon, for I think she could do a better job at flaring around with the ketchup bottle!

[SKETCH] The View

All the characters were pretty funny, except for Claire Danes as the blond dumb-ass. That's the oldest character in the book, and I think the writers could have come up with something more creative.

[SKETCH] Bobbi & Marty Culp perform at Colbert College

Hilarious as always! I loved the portrayal of the songs and the way that they humiliated their daughter. I think was classic.

[TV FUNHOUSE] The Ambiguously Gay Duo

Pervertedly funny as always.

[SKETCH] Hallmark's Peter Pan

Danes' portrayal of Tinkerbell was classic!! The little fairy-turn-drunk was VERY funny.

[WEEKEND UPDATE] with Norm MacDonald

Funny, but the jokes are too exaggerated to be hilarious.

[MUSICAL GUEST] Mariah Carey

She has a great voice mixed with great songs. Two thumbs up.

[SKETCH] Mr. Peepers goes home

Just as funny as the Barry Scheck skit ... I LOVED IT!!! The athletic, insane Mr. Peepers had me laughing so hard it hurt, and when he bit Claire's lip and she started cracking up, it was perfect. The only thing I could recommend was to cut out the extra Peepers at the very end ... they kind of spoiled the original "Mr. Peepers" unique nature.

[SKETCH] CEO Dreamboats Magazine

It was cute, but not that funny.

[MUSICAL GUEST] Mariah Carey

Same as my first review, except I liked the first song better.

[THE LOST DEEP THOUGHTS] by Jack Handey

I thought it was kind of a weak skit to end the show with, but overall the show was EXCELLENT! I loved the Claire Danes/Mariah Carey duo. GREAT SHOW!
