Kelly Ripa / Outkast

I got into the audience for the dress rehearsal. The dress rehearsal was way funnier than the live show. I'll review the sketches that made the live show first.

George Bush: DARRELL? I guess I'm one of the few people who likes Chris Parnell's impression of Bush. This sketch was funny, but I think this is one of the few impersonations that Darrell didn't get down.
Grade: B+

Monologue: One of the better monologues. The guy that was playing Paula Pell's husband is a stand-up comedian named JB Smooth that warms up the audience before the show.
Grade: A+

Kelly Ripa Hair Commercial: This was pretty good.
Grade: A+

Regis and Kelly: I was wondering how they were going to do this with Kelly on the show. She played Angelina pretty well.
Grade: A+

Access Hollywood: Horatio and Kelly laughed their way through this in the dress rehearsal. Kelly cracked up even before the sketch started, and I could hear people off stage telling her to calm down. This was my favorite sketch of the night.
Grade: A+

Weekend Update: Jimmy and Tina had great jokes. Horatio's Jimmy Buffett piece was funnier in the live show.
Grade: A+

Cow Farts: I was really hoping this wouldn't make the live show, but the dress rehearsal audience went berserk over it, so I figured it would get into the show. I didn't really care for it though.
Grade: C

Lalani: This was an allright sketch. The paint thinner line was added for the live show, and I think that made it better.
Grade: B+

Spy Glass: This sketch was way longer in the dress rehearsal, and so much funnier. When Racheal was in the dumpster, she was wearing buck teeth, and mumbling incoherently, and then Seth said "Thank you for that report. I didn't catch a word you said". The live version bombed. I figured it would go in the show no matter what though because this was the only sketch out of 13 that Seth was in, besides the pre-recorded thing in Regis and Kelly.
Grade: D

Dog Shelter: This was pretty good. The dog was pacing around more in the live show which I think made the sketch better.
Grade: A+

Overall: It was an ok show, but it had the potential to be the best one of the 4 new shows if the right sketches had been chosen.
Grade: B

Sketches that got cut:

Liza and David: Horatio played a heavy David Guest lying around his house, and Mya broke in as a drunk Liza Minelli, who then proceeded to beat him up before singing "Cabaret". This really should have gone on over Mya's other sketch with Lalani. This didn't involve the host at all, so maybe it will still turn up in the next couple weeks.
Grade: A+

Bon Jovi Concert: Will played a guy sitting on another guy's shoulders who hits on Kelly who is sitting on someone else's shoulders. He figures it is a good way to meet girls since he is the only guy on top of someone else's shoulders. By the end of the concert, they are married.
Grade: A+

Sweater Teacher: Will had another great sketch where two students, played by Amy and Kelly tried to bribe him for good grades by buying him sweaters.
Grade: A+

Gospel Choir: Kelly played the only white girl in an all black Chior lead by Kenan and Finesse. Kelly was a stripper that the two guys brought into the choir. I thought for sure this was going into the live show since this was the only sketch that had Kenan and Finesse in it.
Grade: A

Spa: Will had yet another sketch where him and Fred played bizarre men who were going to give Chris Parnell, who had a gift certificate to the place, wierd treatments to his body.
Grade: A+

News Helicopter: Chris played a sleazy news reporter in a helicopter with Kelly who was more concerned with hitting on her than reporting the news.
Grade: A+
