Gwyneth Paltrow / Ryan Adams
November 10, 2001

Pre-Show Thoughts-
I saw Shallow Hal, the day Gwyneth Paltrow was hosting, and I thought it was pretty good. I didn't think she'd disappoint me on SNL tonight.

Opening- President George W. Bush
Presidential openings get old pretty fast. I wish they would do something else every once and a while, but this one had it's moments. (7 out of 10)

Monologue
The story of Gwyneth and Maya (Rudolph) knowing each other since they were 7 years old was cool. I liked the photos, and I'm glad to see more of Maya. (10 out of 10)

Boston Teens
Sully and Denise are always good to see. This skit worked out really nicely, and it was great to see that Tina had a role in it. (9 out of 10)

MTV Special - Gemini's Twin Weekend
I don't have a problem with Gemini's Twin at all. They're pretty funny, and I think it's a great take on all of the musical groups out there. The music video was pretty funny, and the story how Jonette and Britannica got the new girl was funny as well. (9 out of 10)

Ginger & Leslie Attebury
YES! The Atteburys! They are so funny! Mark McKinney played Mr. Attebury in 1997, but Will took over in 2000, and now in 2001. Mrs. Attebury is always a crack up because she's always rambling. This skit worked out very nicely. (10 out of 10)

Cartoon - Michael Jackson
The jokes were a bit outdated, but it was still funny. (7 out of 10)

Weekend Update with Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey
As usual, WU was funny. Tina Fey really adds alot, in my opinion.

- Commentary from Giuliani -
Pretty good, but the jokes were coming from a mile away.

- Commentary from Jasper Hahn -
I remember this character. He aired twice in SNL's 25th season. Jokes were the same, but it was still good. (7 out of 10)

-Dinner Table skit
This was pretty funny. They sure had some noisy tableware, though. I liked the little outbursts, especially from Amy and Gwyneth. (8 out of 10)

-Mango
Wow, Mango's at the end of the show? This was pretty good. Your average Mango skit, though. (8 out of 10)

-Mexican Politcal Show
Ah, a time filler skit! Anyway, Maya is really funny. She is SNL's ethnic girl, really. She can play anybody. (6 out of 10)

Final Thoughts-
Really good show. Atteburys, Sully and Denise, the monologue, and Gemini's Twin were all my favorites.

Billy Bob Thorton next week? Blehh.
