Hugh Jackman / Mick Jagger
December 8, 2001

Okay, I'm back with another review, but I don't know if my first one even got here because I think that I sent it in too late.

Anyway, tonight is Hugh Jackman's first time host, but I think Mick Jagger has been here 4 or 5 times more (with and without The Rolling Stones ). I'm not looking forward to Mick, and seeing how many people bought his new solo album in England (only 20,000 ) I think some people will agree with me, ( Hang on, 20,000 is less than Kathie Lee Giffords CD sold ).
Here's the review;
**************************
Opening sketch:
Premise: President Bush, Condaliza Rice, Colin Powell, and General Myers, gather for a meeting with Vice President Chenney joins them on a video phone. While waiting for Secretary Donald Rumsfield, The President gets stuck on the phone with former Vice President and former opponent in the race for presidency, Al Gore.

My Thoughts:
They work Darrell Hammond a lot in the Washington spoofs, but he's great at it.
grade;A+
Quote:" The time is fast approaching when we will have to deal with Mr. Sadam Hussein, to finish a job that should have been dealt with 10 years ago, Thanks Dad,"
**************************
Monologue:
Premise: Hugh Jackman talks about the suggestions he got from Tracy Morgan and Rachel Dratch.

My Thoughts: Hugh does not sound bad when he sings, and those suggestions were really funny if you missed them, here they are
Tracy's suggestion: Hugh comes out as his character from the "X-man" movie, torches up a blunt, and gets a major freak on.

Rachel's suggestion: Since Hugh is here to promote a romantic comedy, he should do something romantic, like take off his shirt, and gently hold Rachel.
Grade: A-
Quote:(Read Tracy's suggestion)
**************************
Fake Commercial (Loose Bear)
Premise:
Loose Bear is a new non-laxitive product that helps get rid of constipation by making you hallucinate you are in a wooded forrest, alone, being chased by a bear.

My Thoughts: This sketch brings new meaning to the phrase,"I just got the crap scared out of me,"
grade: B-
Quote;"Look Bear, get scared sh**less"
**************************
Garret's room:
Premise: Collage student Garret has web cam show set in his dorm room, during the holidays, he decides to stay on campus with his friend Goby while the other students visit their familles.

My Thoughts: I can't believe they smoked the mistletoe, I know these guys are just looking for a way to get high, but God, they smoke any think that flammable
grade;A+
Quote;"We decided we were going to stay at the dorm cause we thought it would be cool, like that movie 'The Shining',but then we remembered that at the end the guy killed himself cause he went crazy."
**************************
A Robert Goblet Christmas
Premise: Robert Goblet stars in a Christmas special on USA, and totally screws up the holiday.
My Thoughts: This is a great impression and Will is really funny, but what did the song "Proud Mary" have to do with Christmas.
grade;A+
Quote:"Do-be-da-be-ga-ga-do-be,you know the draggle song,"
**************************
Sears Family Photo:
Premise:Two former photographers for Vogue magazine, serve their court ordered sentence by taking family photos at a Lansing, Michigan sears store.
My Thoughts: This is very funny, but Seth stole the scene
grade;A+
Quote:"Twins, they are redundant no, GET RID OF THE UGLY ONE!"
**************************
Music: Mick Jagger:
Premise:Aging rocker Mick Jagger sings a song from his new solo album, which is no doubt an eager attempt to get Shakira and N*sync off the charts.
My Thoughts: In the words of those guys who work at "Jeffery's" department store,"Listen Benicio, those bags under your eyes have to be checked because they don't fit in the overhead department,"
grade: F-
NO QUOTE
**************************
Weekend Update:
Premise: As if you don't know.
My Thoughts: I love this sketch, it is the only guaranteed funny sketch.
grade;A+
Quote:(tie) "Feet don't fail me now!"
"Just log on, type in 'Bush Ornaments',and enjoy whatever comes up."
**************************
Hello Dolly!:
Premise:2 super perky people sell dolls on the Home Shopping Network.
My Thoughts: Just Discovering' was hilarious and very memorable.
Grade: B-
Quote:"This doll is for when you child first finds his or her chubby nubby,"
**************************
Mick in the Mirror:
Premise: Mick is nervous and not sure if he should be doing SNL again, and talks to himself in the mirror (played by Jimmy Fallen).
My Thoughts: A very good impression by Jimmy.
grade;A+
Quote:"C'mon do the rooster"
**************************
Superman and his parents:
Premise: Superman talks to his parent in the hopes to get some answers.
My Thoughts: This was okay, but not great.
grade;A+
Quote:"So....do you need some money?"
**************************
Music:Mick Jagger:
Premise: Mick Jagger sings another song that has lyrics that are to similar to Madonna's hit song "Don't tell me."
My Thoughts: Read the last entry about his music.
Grade: F-
NO QUOTE
**************************
Verse:
Premise: Fashion Designer Donate Versace get her own talk show set in a bathroom.
My Thoughts: Maya has an impression of this woman that will take your breath away. She has the look, the voice, and the mannerisms down perfectly.
grade;A+
Quote;"We next guest is a model, who likes movies, walking and the new diet coke with lemon,"
**************************
Christmas Kangaroo:
Premise: Hugh Jackman tells us Americans how Christmas goes down under.
My Thoughts: I'M SPEECHLESS
grade;A+
Quote: Whatever you want the quote to be
**************************
Overall it was a good show and all the players got equal time exeat for Tracy Morgan and it would not surprise me if he leaves next year.

The next show should be a good one, Ellen Degeneres is the host with No Doubt being her musical guest. I keep thinking about Chris Kattan's impression of Anne Heche, they could really work with that.

Well good-bye

Kayla
(P.S. ---IF ANY WORDS ARE SPELLED WRONG OR DOES NOT MAKE SENSE,I'M SORRY.)
