Hugh Jackman / Mick Jagger
December 8, 2001

My Score System:
5: Classic Sketch
4 1/2: Really really good sketch.
4: Tight
3 1/2: Nice
3: Average
2 1/2: Bellow Average
2: Sucked
1: Totally Wack

Preshow Thoughts: I'm expecting an X-Men parady sketch.

Sketch: Intro
Players: Darrell Hammond, Maya Rudolph, Seth Meyers, Will Ferrell, Dean Edwards
What I Have To Say About It: I guess Al Gore is still trying to make it happen huh.
I still say the election was fixed and Gore was supposed to win. I didn't think the
sketch was bust a gut funny, but I liked it just because of all those impressions Derrell did. It was a lot of parts in the sketch where the audience didn't laugh and
the actors thought they would get a laugh. Like the "I grew a beard like
"him" joke and the "you're Al Gore, what else are people going to talk to you
about". I laughed just at the fact that audience didn't. Hey, was Seth playing
himself or something?
Key Player: Darrell Hammond
Weakest Link: Dean Edwards (no lines)...
Score: 4
==============================================================
Sketch: Monologue
Players: Hugh Jackman, Rachel Dratch, Tracy Morgan, female cast members
What I Have To Say About It: It was okay... I noticed that Tracy & Rachel are usually
always the ones to go up to the host during the monologue and say something.
Tracy had a good little part. Hugh was sorta funny. I liked the "hold Rachel
Dratch with your shirt off" part, but um....like I said before "it was okay" the key
word being "okay". Could have done without the singing though.
Key Player: Tracy Morgan
Weakest Link: Rachel Dratch
Score: 3
==============================================================
Sketch: "I Got The Crap Scared Outta Me" Comercial.
Players: Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, Jeff Richards
What I Have To Say About It: Good idea but they could have made it better. It was
a five score rating idea, but the peformance made me give it a 3 1/2. What if they
really did have a laxative that really scared the shit out of you. It would give a
a good meanint to the word.
Key Player: Amy Poehler
Weakest Link: Jeff Richards (an extra could have done his job)
Score: 3.5
==============================================================
Sketch: Jarred's Room
Players: Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, Hugh Jackman, Jeff Richards, Seth Meyers
What I Have To Say About It: Jimmy doesn't need to be on Weekend Update because
he has too many characters. He has Nick Burns, Jarred, Sully, the guy at Jeffries,
and tons of impressions, and on top of that he's on WU. He's all over the place.
I think Jimmy might be on the show for like 1 more season because I know he'll
have a movie deal by next year at the rate he is going...and plus the women like him
too... yeah some movie producers will snatch him up quick. I like this sketch,
not because of Jimmy though but because of Horatio Sanz. I laughed hard when
Horatio came up in there with that big bong. Horatio smokes just about everything
but I laughed harder when he said he smoked the mistletoe. I can't believe
Hugh Jackman out did Jimmy in his own sketch as well. So did Seth & Jeff.
Those teeth Hugh had on were funny. I loved Seth's "c'mon man, let me have my
thing...it's not hurting anyone" when Jimmy said "dude you aren't from England, you
are from New Jersey".
Key Player: Horatio Sanz
Weakest Link: Jimmy Fallon (he played the straight man)
Score: 4.5
==============================================================
Sketch: Robert Goulet Christmas Special
Players: Will Ferrell, Derrell Hammond, Chris Kattan, Hugh Jackman
What I Have To Say About It: I usually don't like Will Ferrell's Goulet impression but
this one was pretty tight. I liked the Sherlock Holmes bit, and the elf one with
Kattan. Kattan looks like a real elf.
Key Player: Will Ferrell
Weakest Link: Hugh Jackman
Score: 4
==============================================================
Sketch: Photographers
Players: Seth Meyers, Rachel Dratch, Hugh Jackman, Ana Gasteyer, Horatio Sanz
What I Have To Say About It: After I looked at this sketch over and over on tape
I got funnier and funnier. I thought it sucked at first, but after I looked over it for
the 4th or 5th time I liked it. I loved it when Seth said "get rid of the other one"
to one of the twins. Rachel as the grandma was funny when she said "should I take
my sweater off too" and they were disgusted. Another note worthy part was when
they told gramda to get behind the camera. Did anyone notice the different picture
at the end. That was funny.
Key Player: Seth Meyers
Weakest Link: Rachel Dratch
Score: 4
==============================================================
Mich Jagger was okay, but I don't rate the music.
==============================================================
Sketch: Weekend Update
Players: Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Jeff Richards, Chris Kattan
What I Have To Say About It: Like I said, Jimmy shouldn't do update. He really
has improved but Tina could do better without him. This one was shorter than
usual. I liked Tina's Afgan Women joke. I liked the Japaneese Roller Coster
joke too. I think it would be so cool if they had an Asian cast member.
Jeff's part was lame. He just wanted an excuse to dress up like a woman.
I guess Jeff thought he was making a big carrier move by leaving MadTV to come
to SNL. It seems to me that he's doing the same things he used to do on MadTV
just playing extras and little small not funny "no one is going to remember these"
type of roles anyway. He didn't seem like a "drunk girl".... "stupid girl" was more
like it. Now watch this end up being a returning character. The "It" joke was one
of the best ones though.
Key Player: Tina Fey
Weakest Link: Jeff Richards
Score: 4
==============================================================
Sketch: Hello Dolly
Players: Ana Gasteyer, Hugh Jackman
What I Have To Say About It: If Vincent Van Vorhees or whatever wants to get some
pussy from being a doll maker, I guess he should switch his occupation because the
only ones that's going to be throwing it at him are 50 year old home makers,
widows or "drunk girls". The dolls he made where funny especially the one
touching his pecker. Ana saying "she loves to get drunk with her dolls" and the
"don't give dolls to children" part was funny.
Key Player: Ana Gasteyer
Weakest Link: Hugh Jackman
Score: 3
==============================================================
Sketch: Mick Jagger talking to himself.
Players: Mick Jagger & Jimmy Fallon
What I Have To Say About It: I bet everyone things Jimmy can do a good Mick Jagger
but I thought it sucked. Jimmy is a good impressionist but he thinks he can do
everybody. This sketch was just filler to me and an excuse to get Mick Jagger in
a sketch.
Key Player: Mick Jagger
Weakest Link: Jimmy Fallon
Score: 3.5
==============================================================
Sketch: Superman
Players: Will Ferrell, Hugh Jackman, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch
What I Have To Say About It: This was just another filler too. It was okay.
Will did good in this one...saying "all my knowledge, everything I know, are in
these crystals and I will tell you everything.....so um...well...what's up?"
Maya can do some good voices, I'm just now noticing that. I liked Hugh's
line "Lois Lane is just a friend like this teenage boy I hang out with named
Jimmy".
Key Player: Will Ferrell
Weakest Link: Rachel Dratch
Score: 3
==============================================================
Nothing to say about the music.
==============================================================
Sketch: Versace
Players: Maya Rudolph, Jimmy Fallon, Hugh Jackman, Mick Jagger
What I Have To Say About It: I didn't like this sketch on Reese's episode, but
this one was funny as fuck! Maya held it down. This one was more organized than
the first one. I liked the Mr. Panty Stocking Pupet Man bit. Jimmy's bit was funny
too, but that little "who's a bitch" thing with Mick Jagger didn't work with me.
Key Player: Maya Rudolph
Weakest Link: Hugh Jackman
Score: 4.5
==============================================================
Sketch: Christmas Kangeroo
Players: Will Ferrell, Seth Meyers, Hugh Jackman, Rachel Dratch
What I Have To Say About It: This was funny. After Will lost to the Kangeroo and
it was srewing him he started loosing more and more. It was funny.
Key Player: Will Ferrell
Weakest Link: Seth Meyers
Score: 4.5
==============================================================

Final Score: 3.5
Key Player: Will Ferrell (Maya could have won this)
Weakest Link: Jeff Richards (Rachel could have won this)
