Conan O'Brien / Don Henley
March 10, 2001

Third time's a charm. I'm getting really tired of doing this review. If you are wondering why I started my review this way it is because this is th third time I will be writing this review. Yes, because by computer is a piece of crap it has erased my update 2 other times. Hell, it probally will now too. Oh how I love my computer.

Well its been a nice week off from SNL, but now its back to business. Nothing much has happend news wise in the past week, just that our "Vice" President had another heart episodes. Dick Chenney is the real Moleculo. How many heart attacks can one guy get. I hope he is OK because God forbid if Bush runs the show.

One last thing. Last week I posted my Katie Holmes episode review on the message board because this site never gets updated anymore. I noticed that alot of u went to my site through it. Now if any of u enjoyed my site and want to come back when I update it, send me an E-mail and I'll add u to the mailing list. So now with no further adeiu here is my review.

JIM'S PRESHOW THOUGHTS- This show has to be good doesn't it. I thought that it was impossible to do a bad show with my favorite late night talk show host, Conan O'Brien. Everything Conan in seems to be funnier. (There was an exception for this show.) Don Henley, he sings. That is all I know about him.

FIRST SKETCH- Well I had a little problem with this sketch, because I wasn't awake for it. Yea I has very tired and fell asleep, and I asked mi madre to tape the show but she thought that it started 11:35 like other late night shows. I heard that it was a Bush sketch too. I was dissapointed (Sleeping was better than this show thought.)

CONOLOUGE- It started off as a regular one of his monologues, like the ones on his show. I was happy to see that and I was hoping maybe for the first time all season they could do a monolouge without another character. Now, I'm asking too much. I was pretty mad when I saw that they were going to go to his studio. But luckily Conan was in it and it was alright. I like to call these sketchologues. The people Conan picked up were funny. But the Max having sex thing was an inside joke for people who watch his show so for u who are fans u probally like it, like me. If your not a fan too bad. This was probally one of the best sketchologues of the year. B+ 92

SULLY AND DENISE- I knew they were going to do one of these sketches because Conan is from the Boston area. My favorite part of this sketch was the Carpal tunnel syndrome joke. One of my friends will probally get this. I also like the way they made fun of the "Storm of the Century." Tecnically it was the storm of the century around here but really. They were calling for 3-25 inches of snow. That gives us a real good idea. This sketch was crusing for an A untill Ben Afleck showed up and completly screwed it up. As soon as he came things were hard to follow, the adience was screaming, and I totally lost it. Because of that I only give this sketch a B+ instead of an A. B+ 92

MOLECULO- This is sort of like the Rock Superman sketch of last year. Now as u all know I usually don't like sketches where the main character repeats the same things over and over again, (ahem Molly Shannon.) But I liked this for some reason. Probally because Conan was in it, and as I said before he makes everything better. I knew spanish would come in handy. I wouldn't have got the last part of the sketch without it. Sweet. (This has no relevance to the sketch I just felt like writing it.) Pretty good sketch. B 88

NAPSTER TESTOMONY- I just started to laugh when I saw Conan. I really didn't like anyone else besides him. The main reason I didn't like this sketch was they only portrayed washed up 80's stars. I think they should have used famous artists or created SNL music characters (not Gemini's Twins I prayed that they weren't in it.) Derrel did a very good Trent Lott impression. Is there any impression that Derrel Hammond can't do. For the sketch all around I really didn't like it. They could have made it so much better. 80 C

DON HENLEY- Since I was watching this on tape I just fast forwarded throught this part. N/A

WEEKEND UPDATE- This was one of the shortest WU that I can remember. Since it was short I only have a few of the jokes that I liked. I like they boys don't have enginas joke, and the Frank Gifford just shoot me joke. Since there were no side shows in this WU I will complain about something. Jimmy Fallon, he is the second worst selection for Weekend Update (only Norm was worst.) Now I'm sure I'll lose all the Jimmy lovers who read my review, but he is terrible at it. He isn't a news anchor man. Hopefully next year they will let Tina Fey do it by herself. Worst Weekend Update of the year. C- 76

TAINTLESS- I thought this sketch was going to be like what they did in the early seasons of this cast with some bald guy, when the bald guy was in a life threateing situation and he always made the people feel bad before they die. If anyone knows his name give me a little E-mail or if this is in the message board respond to it. I thought this because of Ana's opening comment when the Taint guy just woke up (I liked that comment by the way.) Conan butchering the name Mr. Brown was very funny. The rest was pretty bad. This sketch had soem potenitail again but the writers killed it. C 80

FIND THE BLACK PEOPLE AT A KNICKS GAME- I don't know why it was funny, but it was. It also sad that ticket prices are so high that the only black people were the players and the consesion workers. Its not like that at a 76ers game. 76ers games are the place to be if anyone is in Philly and wants to do something go to a game its a great time. For the sketch again I'm pretty sure It was Tracy's idea. B 88

VH1 DIVA-THON- Is Ana trying to be like Molly Shannon, or is it just that SNL always needs an annoying Cast member. This sketch was really corny. They tried to fit in a gay joke, a loser joke, and a family member joke all in one sketch and then get them all mad and it just totally blowed. (Real inteligent statement.) There is always one sketch a night where u ask yourself what was Lorne smoking when he allowed this sketch to air. F 69

DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITEE- Was this a real announcment from the Democratic National Commitee because it wasn't funny at all. What was this doing on a Comedy show. F 69

DON HENLEY- FF AGAIN N/A

SPORTS CENTURY- I don't really have too much to say for this sketch, besides it wasn't that good. Conan wasn't that bad thought. He has been pretty good with bad writing. D 74

JIM'S FINAL THOUGHT AND GRADE- I was really dissapionted with this episode. I was hoping for the best show of the season. We need another big news story, like Election 2000 to make SNL as good as it was in the beginging of the season. I'll start one. Bush has the inteligence of a toddler. Now my non-accurate grade would be a C on this episode but lets see what the accurate grading system gets.

JIM'S FINAL GRADE- 82.1818 C

BEST SKETCH- Sully and Denise

WORST SKETCH- VH1 Diva Thon

BEST CAST MEMBER- Conan O'Brien

WORST CAST MEMBER- Jimmy Fallon

Well Conan was once a cast member so that counts. Jimmy was terrible in this episode but so was almost everyone else, but he is the scapegoat. Next week there is a no talent actress who I don't like, Julia Styles. Everyone thinks she's good looking I don't see it. I'm excited about Areosmith being the musical guest thought. They can still rock even though they get Senor citizen discounts. Now remember if u want to be on the mailing list on my site E-mail me. Until next week this is Jim M signing out.
