'SNL' Scores Eight-Week Ratings High

THE 'APPRENTICE' STAR HELPS FIRE UP 'SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE' RATINGS TO THEIR HIGHEST LEVEL IN LOCAL-MARKET AVERAGES SINCE FEB. 7

'SNL' IS UP 18 PERCENT VERSUS THE SAME NIGHT LAST YEAR

BURBANK, Calif. -- April 4, 2004 -- The April 3 telecast of "Saturday Night Live," hosted by "The Apprentice's" Donald Trump, grabbed "SNL's" highest "overnight" local-market rating in eight weeks, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Last night's telecast, which included performances by musical guest Toots and the Maytals (featuring Bootsy Collins, The Roots, Ben Harper and Jack Johnson), grabbed a 6.6 rating, 16 share in metered-market households. It's the show's strongest result since "SNL" set its season high on Feb. 7 with a telecast hosted by "Will & Grace's" Megan Mullally and featuring musical guest Clay Aiken (7.0/16). This is the third-highest-rated "SNL" of the season, behind only that Feb. 7 telecast and the Jan. 10 edition hosted by "Friends'" Jennifer Aniston and featuring musical guest Black Eyed Peas (6.9/15).

Versus the same night last year, "Saturday Night Live" was up 18 percent in the local markets (6.6/16 vs. 5.6/13).

National ratings for the April 3 telecast of "SNL" are due from Nielsen on Thursday.
