Nominations for the 8th Annual "1999 MTV Movie Awards" have been announced, and several "SNL" alumni have made the cut.
In the Best Male category, Adam Sandler, a "Saturday Night Live" performer from 1990-1995, earned a nomination for his role in "The Waterboy." He's up against some pretty tough competition though, with Ben Affleck ("Armageddon"), Jim Carrey ("The Truman Show"), Tom Hanks ("Saving Private Ryan"), and Will Smith ("Enemy Of The State") in his company.
Three former "SNL" members received nominations in the Best Comedic Performance category. Sandler was nominated again, as was Chris Rock, an "SNL" performer from 1990-1993, for his supporting role in "Lethal Weapon 4," and Ben Stiller, an "SNL" featured player in 1989, for his starring role in "There's Something About Mary." The three face competition from Cameron Diaz ("There's Something About Mary") and Chris Tucker ("Rush Hour").
Rock was also nominated in the Breakthrough Performance category.
Stiller was nominated in three other categories: Best On-Screen
Duo (along with Diaz), Best Kiss (along with Diaz), and Best Fight
(along with Puffy The Dog).
The winners will be announced at the "1999 MTV Movie Awards" which will be taped on June 5th at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA. The star-studded awards ceremony will air on June 10th at 9PM
