Dratch
Rachel Dratch returns for her seventh
season on "SNL."
Dratch has performed a number
of memorable characters, including Bostonian teen Denise (whose
boyfriend Sully was played by Jimmy Fallon), "The Girl with
No Gaydar." and Virginia, the creepily amorous wife and
"lover" to Professor Klarvin (Will Ferrell). She also
plays "Sheldon" the co-host of "Wake Up Wakefield"
opposite Maya Rudolph and cluelessly crass studio head Abe Scheinwald.
In May 2004, Dratch floored the audience, critics and her co-stars
in the laugh-fit inducing "Debbie Downer" sketch.
Dratch brings notable impressions
to the show including Elizabeth Taylor, Harry Potter, Barbara
Walters and her impression of Calista Flockhart/ "Ally McBeal"
which was "cheered" by TV Guide.
Dratch has been seen in the films
"Down with Love" with Ewan McGregor and Renee Zellweger
and "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" starring David
Spade as well "Freshman Orientation," directed by Ryan
Shiraki. She will also appear opposite Adam Sandler in the upcoming
"Click."
Dratch wrote, directed and performed
in the short film "The Vagina Monologues Monologues,"
which premiered at the New York Comedy Film Festival in 2001.
Dratch has made television appearances
on NBC's "Third Watch" and "Frasier," Bravo's
"A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T. Improv," USA's "Monk" and
in a recurring role on "King of Queens."
In 2000, she performed her critically
praised two-woman show "Dratch & Fey" opposite
"SNL" head writer Tina Fey at the Upright Citizens
Brigade Theater in New York which was dubbed "the funniest
thing to be found on any New York comedy stage" by Time
Out New York.
A local favorite in Chicago,
Dratch moved to SNL after a successful run with the city's famed
Second City improv/sketch comedy troupe, where current cast members
Horatio Sanz and Tina Fey as well as SNL alums John Belushi,
Chris Farley and Bill Murray (among others) originated. Dratch
was a veteran of the company's mainstage productions and the
theater hosted the first incarnation of "Dratch & Fey."
Dratch lives in New York. Her
birthday is February 22.
