i just watched a video of all the doctor who openings on youtube and thought it would be cool if someone did this for snl

That would be very awesome. Every montage mixed together, PLUS every cast member ever, but what would you do for music?

That brings up another good point... you could make one looooong ass, epic Doctor Who opening. Like this:
1) Preliminary title tests with a stagehand's face inserted ("Origins" documentary)
2) Extended William Hartnell titles (including unused howlaround, and first episode face shots)
3) Extended Patrick Troughton titles
4) Unused Jon Pertwee titles #1 (creepy black & white version from "Pertwee Years")
5) Unused Jon Pertwee titles #2 (with full body photo and crooked Pertwee face)
6) Jon Pertwee seasons 7-10
7) Jon Pertwee season 11
8) Tom Baker unused footage
9) Tom Baker - "The Ark In Space" brown slit-scan
10) Tom Baker seasons 12-17
11) Tom Baker season 18
12) Peter Davison
13) Colin Baker
14) Sylvester McCoy
15) Paul McGann
16) Rowan Atkinson (video version - the TV version used Tom Baker's, but the VHS has a fresh title sequence)
17) Richard E. Grant (recreation of the cheesy Flash intro, but done like TV titles - a fan on YouTube did this)
18) Mix of Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant (since they're basically the same)
