A SKETCH.

Setting: Park bench

A man is sitting on the bench. He is feeding bread crumbs to a pigeon. Another man approaches and sits on the bench next to him.

MAN 1: Is it...?

MAN 2: Yes.

(long pause)

MAN 1: I see.

(long pause)

MAN 1: She called yesterday.

MAN 2: Is that...

MAN 1: Yes.

MAN 2: ...right?

MAN 1: Yes.

(MAN 2 takes off his shoes)

MAN 1: She's not scared.

MAN 2: Good.

MAN 1: Is it?

MAN 2: Is what?

MAN 1: Is it good?

(long pause)

MAN 2: Well... isn't it?

(long pause)

MAN 1: I suppose.

(the pigeon flies away)

MAN 1: I suppose it's good.

MAN 2: Alright.

(MAN 2 rises and starts to walk away)

MAN 1: Wait.

MAN 2: What?

MAN 1: Your shoes.

MAN 2: My shoes?

MAN 1: You left them here.

(MAN 2 considers the shoes)

MAN 2: I don't need them.

(MAN 2 walks away)

(long pause)

MAN 1: Neither do I.

This piece reminds me of Kids in the Hall. Very edgy and hip. Great job.

I can see Steve Martin tackling this one, like when he does his film noir stuff....like that sketch where he catches Gilda's eye, they start dancing together, then he deposits her back in her chair, then they continue on their way.

Dear Cowbell,

Your skit is right up there with some of the best sketches ever. It smells of better times, and is reminiscent of such comedy greats as Sling Dingers and Sling Dingers 2: Slingers On Patrol. I have no other examples. To sum things up, or to coin a phrase from the late great Neil Hamburger, "To punish humanity for their complacency in letting the holocaust happen."

Love,
Wesley Snipes

P.S. I have requested off Monday thru Wednesday not this week, but the week after. Please do not request off on those days.
