From watching them on CLASSIC SNL,

it's a tie between Deion Sanders/Bon Jovi and Bob Saget/TLC

George Foreman/Hole and Sarah Jessica Parker/R.E.M. were also pretty damn awful but I'd agree that the two bry mentioned were probably the absolute worst.

I've been watching 1994-95 shows lately. Yesterday I watched Pierce and it struck me how far downhill Farley slid from his peak only a few years before. He was actually a stronger castmember at that time and had the ability to act in a sketch, but all that had changed by the time he did "Tales of Little Women". His delivery on the lines before he goes skating/falls through the ice is AWFUL.

I noticed in the Newhart show the "additional sketches" credits included Judd Apatow and Brian McConnachie. Wonder what they wrote.

I'm not sure about Chris Farley's Delivery, but I Enjoyed Him doing Little Women. In Fact, I Preferred the First Part Better than when he was Using Profanity. By the way, I don't Generally mind the Profanity, but after 3 or 4 Times, We Get It. You don't like Falling in the Ice and You think you're going to Drown. Jody

Deion Sanders is definitely the low point. He makes George Foreman (who was a pretty weak host himself) look like Buck Henry. He was absolutely TERRIBLE as a host (watch Perspectives for an example), the sketches themselves were pretty bad for the most part (the cold open and Hot Dog for Jason were passable), a complete waste of time in the last segment (seriously, how little talent do you need to have in order to lipsync RAP?), and the audience at times was DEAD (except of course when Farley's pants fell down).

This has got to be one of the absolute worst episodes of all time. I don't think they allowed the show to get as bad until Hilary Swank hosted 10 years later to the exact week, and even then it wasn't quite as big of a steaming turd as this one. I wonder what the atmosphere was like at Studio 8H that week.

yeah Farley is fine in the LW sketch (proof that Fred Wolf is a pretty damn good writer)

low point is Sanders/Bon Jovi

and yes the Swank episode is one of the worst I've ever seen. It was worse than a lot of episodes in 94/95

Was the Hilary Swank episode really THAT bad?? I've never seen it. What sketches were really terrible?

Oh, please. The Hilary Swank episode was just a little dull, that's all. That Botox talk show sketch was kinda funny, and Hot Plates worked (if the overacting was intentional, and I think it was). Plus Jim Downey did some fake ads.

The only sketch that really didn't work was one where Maya Rudolph tried making fun of Jennifer Lopez singing off-pitch at the Grammys. She didn't try to make her impression that accurate, so it came off as mean-spirited. Oh, and Debbie Downer of course.

After he falls in the ice he's better off, but he has a clear problem with everything before. It's like he didn't bother rehearsing or putting any effort into it. The sketch itself was actually decent and didn't go on for too long.

When I first saw the Hilary Swank show, I thought she had rabies.
